Undergraduate Research

As an undergraduate engaged in research, you can get training in laboratory skills, prepare for graduate school and strengthen your understanding of the various psychology subfields. Students work directly with faculty members who mentor them through the research experience. Our faculty conduct research across a wide variety of disciplines within psychology. Quantitative Methods

Social Psychology
How does the behavior of an individual, or individuals in a group, influence the behavior of others? Social psychology research works to answer this question.

Our internship courses provide students with the opportunity to to get workplace experience with organizations on and off campus. The experience is guided by an individualized learning contract which specifies the academic and work components of the internship. These courses also include psychology faculty mentoring and collaboration with peers through regular class meetings. We offer a practicum course for students at all levels, as well as an internship course for students in their junior or senior year.

Study Abroad

One of the best ways to learn how behavior interacts with culture is to experience another part of the world! The College of Charleston offers a number of College-sponsored and affiliate study abroad programs which provide psychology courses with built-in or transferable credits. These include semester and summer programs, some of which are run by faculty within the psychology department. Check out the Center for International Education (CIE) for more information.
