Research Interests
I am a neuroscientist interested in the recovery of function after peripheral nerve injury. I am particularly interested in how exercise modulates the expression of neurotrophins in a sex dependent manner. My studies explore the contributions that sex hormones and neurotrophins make in the processes of regeneration and synaptic reorganization after nerve injury. I also conduct pedagogical research examining how various teaching and alternative assessment strategies impact feelings of belonging and learning in STEM courses.
