Activities Calendar

So much to do, so little time.

At the College of Charleston, you’ll be busy. Busy trying to squeeze in a trip to the county park's climbing wall between volunteering at a charity dance marathon and attending your roommate's art opening.

To help you stay organized, we have the campus calendar. Seach all events by interest and subscribe to your favorites. You should also check out Cougar Connect for upcoming student events.

Signature Events

Convocation

Gather and celebrate the official start to the new year. While all students are invited and encouraged to attend, it’s particularly important for students new to the College of Charleston. In keeping with tradition, new students will pass through the arch at Porter’s Lodge and convene in the Cistern Yard to join the College of Charleston community.

Maroon Mayhem

After Convocation, be sure to stick around for Maroon Mayhem. The kick-off event to Weeks of Welcome.

Weeks of Welcome

Whether you’re new to the College or new to the semester, Weeks of Welcome has something for everyone. This is your chance to engage with your peers and the College. Interact with the community by participating in events that foster friendship, student engagement and transformative learning.

Cougar Family Fun Day

This is the time when students become the tour guides. Families can experience campus and the city with their student. And don’t forget to explore the city. There’s so much to do in Charleston. You don’t want to miss it.

Cougar Countdown

Finals are tough. That’s why we have Cougar Countdown. These student activities support your mind, body and spirit during the final days of class. Activities will happen across campus, so no matter where you’re preparing for finals, you’ll likely have an event nearby.

Commencement

A tradition like no other.

Sure, graduation is the goal, but commencement at the College of Charleston is a unique and wonderful experience. Unlike other universities, graduates at the College of Charleston don’t wear robes. Instead, you’ll wear white dresses or white dinner jackets.

And, graduation takes place outside in the Cistern Yard. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss will celebrate as you throw that diploma in the air. The College’s oldest building, Randolph Hall, provides a fitting backdrop for this momentous occasion.
