Research Interests

The goal of my research is to enhance understanding of how individuals form and maintain relationships. My primary interest is nostalgia as a means through which individuals maintain social connection. A secondary interest is balance theory and attitude alignment, the tendency of individuals to shift their attitudes to more closely match the attitudes of a partner. I also apply my interests by collaborating on research that intersects the disciplines of social psychology and positive psychology (e.g., forgiveness, humility) to maintain relationships.
