African American Studies BA/Minor
After completing our program, students will:
- demonstrate disciplinary knowledge of African American studies.
- demonstrate competence in African American studies research design and methodology.
- practice critical inquiry and analysis of the political, social, and historical perspectives of African American life and culture.

African Studies Minor
After completing our program, students will:
- demonstrate their knowledge of the essential political and physical geography of the continent of Africa.
- demonstrate knowledge and application of African Union (AU) protocols.

Archaeology BA/Minor
After completing our program, students will:
- demonstrate a knowledge of the underlying theoretical assumption in archaeology by describing how archaeology began and how the discipline has grown.
- demonstrate experience with modern data collection procedures in archaeology.
- demonstrate research skills through their experience with understanding of information processing methods such as artifact cleaning, classification, and data entry.

Asian Studies Minor
After completing our program, students will be able to:
- locate and analyze primary sources in Asian cultures.
- research a theme and/or current issue in Asian cultures using contemporary primary sources.

British Studies Minor
After completing our program, students will:
- identify, describe and analyze significant episodes or developments in history, politics, economics and/or sociology/anthropology of the British Isles.
- identify, describe, and interpret examples of literature, art, architecture, drama, and/or music of the British Isles.
- identify, describe and analyze cultural artifacts or historical, political, economic, or sociological/anthropological developments related to the British Empire.

Business Language in Spanish Minor
After completing our program, students will:
- compose and clearly express business-related writing and corresondence in Spanish, employing requisite compositional structures and elements of said mode of writing and correspondence, while demonstrating accepted writing styles in the contexts of Spanish speaking countries.
- demonstrate familiarity with and exhibit the ability to properly contextualize key Spanish language terminologies related to the business context.
- demonstrate a cross-cultural understanding of business practices in a variety of Spanish-speaking countries.

Classics AB/BA/Minor
After completing our program, students will:
- demonstrate a working knowledge of the foundational resources for research in the field and assess how they would apply to a particular question.
- conduct a clear and cogent, research project utilizing relevant secondary literature and developing a rational argument.
- present and defend a research topic in an oral presentation, which clearly explains a thesis and employs supporting argumentation in a logical sequence.
AB students take additional credit hours of Greek or Latin.

After completing our program, students will:
- demonstrate an understanding of Europe as a region in the world.
- describe, and analyze one European-wide (historical, political, cultural, economic, or contemporary) issue, or issues characteristic of any one European country.

Foreign Language Education Cognate BS
After completing our program, students will:
- prove their understanding of language acquisition theories and instructional practices for students at the pre-kindergarten through 12th grade levels.
- demonstrate the ability to integrate the National and State student standards into lesson plans for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
- demonstrate the ability to create and implement assessments of their students' language skills and cultural awareness at the pre-kindergarten through 12th grade levels.

After completing our program, students will:
- demonstrate their ability to speak French at the Intermediate-High level or higher on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) speaking proficiency scale.
- demonstrate their ability to write in French. They will be able to narrate and describe with detail in all major time frames with good control of aspect. They will be rated at the Advanced-Mid level or higher on the ACTFL scale for proficiency in writing.
- demonstrate knowledge of literacy and cultural texts from France and Francophone countries.

After completing our program, students will:
- demonstrate writing proficiency at the B1 level, as defined by the Common European Framework for Foreign Language Proficiency.

- demonstrate understanding of texts on literary and cultural themes as well as interdisciplinary topics.

After completing our program, students will:
- demonstrate global awareness, that is, the ability to identify and describe differences and similarities within and between societies and cultures.

After completing our program, students will:
- retrieve, identify, explain, compare, contrast, and summarize information pertaining to Jewish history, thought, religion, and culture.

Russian Studies Minor
After completing our program, students will:
- interpret, situate and contextualize key themes and topics in a variety of media (such as Russian Literature or Film) that Russian culture deems important in understanding the traditions of the culture in their historical, intellectual, aesthetic or ethical dimension.
- demonstrate ressearch skills within the parameters of the discipline. They will be able to identify, record and interpret key scholarly artifacts as they pertain to the key themes and topics in the field of Russian Studies.

After completing our program, students will:

- recognize the main periods, movements, authors and genres of Hispanic Literature, and interpret literature.
- write at the Advanced-low level on the ACTFL scale.
- identify and explain linguistic characteristics of Spanish, as well as demonstrate knowledge and apply the main concepts of phonology, morphology, semantics and syntax.
