Early Childhood Education BS
After completing our program, students will:
- design and implement an effective unit of instruction, and then evaluate and reflect on the impact that instruction had on students.
- increase cultural awareness and teaching efficacy to build caring communities of learners.
- demonstrate knowledge of the influence of family and work to actively engage families in their children’s learning.

Education Minor
After completing our program, students will:
- demonstrate content competence of human development in context of learning or social environments.
- demonstrate understanding of the roles of race, class, and gender in education.

Elementary Education BS
After completing our program, students will:
- demonstrate a variety of professionalism skills.
- plan and implement instruction based on knowledge of students, develop critical thinking and problem solving, and actively engage the learner.
- demonstrate a proficient knowledge in the academic subject areas of English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.

Middle Grades Education BS
After completing our program, students will:
- write and implement an effective unit of content for a middle school classroom.
- develop a Philosophy paper and prepare an Adolescent School Organization project.
- synthesize a reflection paper on the impact of teaching on student learning and teach to impact student learning.

Secondary Education BS
After completing our program, students will:
- achieve a score of proficient on all domains of the South Carolina Teaching Standards 4.0 rubric.
- achieve a score of proficient on all domains of the South Carolina SLO Rubric.
- earn passing scores on national teacher education certification exams.

Special Education BS
After completing our program, students will:
- demonstrate special education general content and disability-specific knowledge competencies by successfully passing all required Praxis examinations.
- demonstrate an understanding of individualization in Special Education by producing an Individualized Education Program that supports research-based instructional strategies.
- demonstrate the ability to manage a classroom as demonstrated by achieving a minimum score of “meets standard” in all rubric areas on the Classroom Management System assignment.
