  • Art History BA/Minor

    After completing our program, students will:

    • recognize, describe, and apply key elements of design/style in the use of primary (visual) sources.
    • demonstrate critical thinking skills in the use of secondary sources in research and writing by recognizing and critiquing the thesis or argument in secondary sources.
    • demonstrate skills acquired in the major that will be effective in their professional lives by preparing a professional resume they can use when applying for jobs, internships, fellowships and scholarships.
  • Arts Management BA/Minor

    After completing our program, students will:

    • critically assess social, economic, ethical, and political challenges in arts management and propose solutions through the application of theory and concepts in private, public, and non-profit organizations.
    • efficiently synthesize theory and concepts from multiple disciplies, research, the creative process, and knowledge obtained inside and outside of the classroom.
    • demonstrate competency in program budgeting and the holistic analysis of a nonprofit organization's financial practices and health.

  • Dance BA/Minor

    After completing our program, students will:

    • apply choreographic principles and communicate and express creativity through their dancemaking(create).
    • analyze and critically evaluate dance works (evaluate).
    • communicate and collaborate with stage management, designers, technical crew, and other support personnel (collaborate)
  • Historic Preservation & Community Planning BA/Minor

    After completing our program, students will:

    • identify, classify and define specific historic preservation methods and theory, architectural and urgan design ideas and forms as practiced in the United States and internationally.
    • recognize urban planning and policy issues and historic preservation challenges that are affected by social, economic, environmental, ethical, scientific and political challenges in the 21st Century.
    • critically assess historic preservation and/or urban design challenges and justify solutions to course directors that actively conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate historic preservation and/or community planning theory, concepts and methods in real world scenarios.
  • Music BA/Minor

    After completing our program, students will:

    • treat and explain leading tones (theory and analysis).
    • demonstrate advanced performance technique (performance practice).
    • demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of advanced musicological topics (cultural context).
  • Studio Art BA/Minor

    After completing our program, students will:

    • collaborate within and beyond the field of theatre by applying skills and knowledge from across theatrical production, design, and performance areas to communicate ideas and negotiate group process.
    • interpret dramatic texts, theatrical performances, and cultural histories using the discipline's critical thinking, creativity, and organizational skills in ways that demonstrate an understanding of the multi-faceted nature of theatre as a valuable artistic and social action.
  • Theatre BA/Minor

    After completing our program, students will:

    • produce artwork that exhibits competency with formal elements and principles of visual organization (formal competency).
    • produce artwork that reveals understanding of the connection between skillful and thoughtful use of media, techniques and subjects to achieving effective visual outcomes (technical proficiency).
    • develop an idea and arrive at original and sophisticated solutions through experimentation, critical reflection and creative problem solving (critical thinking and creative problem-solving).
