Wes Dudgeon

Dean, School of Health Sciences

Wes Dudgeon-Dean, School of Health Sciences

Wes Dudgeon was appointed inaugural dean of the School of Health Sciences at the College of Charleston in June, 2024. In this role, the focus of his efforts has been to develop novel undergraduate programs that will complement the existing Public Health and Exercise Science majors. In 2024, the Health Services Administration and Management degree program began, and in March of 2026, the first RN-BSN students began taking courses.

Dean Dudgeon has worked with community partners to enhance the experiential learning opportunities available to health science students, both locally and abroad. Each undergraduate program now has a direct academic pathway toward a graduate/professional degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in fields such as Healthcare Administration and Rehabilitation Sciences.

Additionally, in 2025 the Fitness & Health Community Testing (FaHCT) program launched, providing health and performance testing to the community. Taken together, these efforts will prepare undergraduate students to be industry leaders in improving health outcomes, be it as practitioners, researchers, or healthcare providers.
