Office of the President


President Andrew T. Hsu, the 23rd president of the College of Charleston, is dedicated to ensuring that the institution reaches its full potential, both as a place for students and faculty to achieve their academic ambitions as well as a place for community members to engage in the arts and various intellectual pursuits.

During his tenure, the College of Charleston continues to build on what it does best, while also evolving to meet the needs of the region. The university has begun offering a wide range of new programs, from undergraduate engineering programs to a micro-credential program complementing coursework across the curriculum, to a doctorate in mathematics with computation.

Meet President Hsu

Leadership 

Under the direction of the Board of Trustees, President Andrew Hsu is responsible for the overall management of the university. His efforts are supported and implemented by the College's administrative officers and deans. 

Strategy 

Under President Hsu's leadership, College of Charleston launched its 10-year strategic plan Tradition & Transformation. The strategic plan is built on three pillars: Student experience and success, academic distinction and employee experience and success. 

Character 

President Hsu makes interacting with students a priority. From participating in events like Cougar Countdown to playing table tennis in the gym, you never know where you'll find President Hsu. If you don't see him walking around campus, be sure to engage with him on his social media accounts.
