Students requesting services should complete the CDS Application and provide appropriate documentation of their disability. Some accommodations require significant planning; therefore, students should begin the process well in advance. Students should submit their documentation as soon as possible.

1. Generally, the Center for Disability Services (CDS) requires documentation of a student's disability to determine eligibility. Students should review the CDS docmentation guidelines and submit documentation when they complete their CDS Application.

2.  Complete the CDS Application and gather your disability-related documentation.

3.  Submit your CDS Application and disability-related documenation to us via our CDS SecureShare Portal.

4. Upon receipt and review of your CDS Application and disability-related documentation, an email will be sent to the student's College of Charleston email address with next steps.

We encourage you to review our FAQ's about connecting with CDS.

College of Charleston recognizes a student with a disability as anyone whose impairment substantially limits one or more major life activity. Students may receive a variety of services including classroom accommodations such as extended time on tests, test proctoring, note-taking assistance and access to assistive technology.
