Center for Disability Services
The Center for Disability Services (CDS) views disabilities as an integral part of the rich diversity at the College of Charleston. To that end, we work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff to create an inclusive educational environment for students. Our approach is student-centered and interactive.
In a higher education setting, reasonable accommodations are modifications or adjustments in the academic environment that provide a qualified student with a disability equal access to the university’s programs, courses, services and activities. Providing accommodations does not compromise the essential elements of a course or program or weaken academic standards. Accommodations simply provide an alternative way to accomplish the requirements by eliminating or reducing disability-related barriers and providing a level playing field.
Getting Connected with CDS:
- Once you receive your CWID and College of Charleston e-mail address, you are welcome to begin exploring the process of exploring accommodations with our office by completing the CDS Application.
