Women’s and Gender Studies alumni are critical to the growth of the program. Our goal is for our alumni to share their successes and to network with newer graduates and/or current students looking for internships and career advice. We also hope to provide resources for the continuing professional development of our alumni.

Kamau Pope '16

Kamau worked with Southerners on New Ground (SONG) as the South Carolina Organizing Fellow. They then worked with the non-profit Post-Landfill Action Network (PLAN) as a Tour Coordinator. After PLAN, Kamau earned a Master's in History. Their work on Black Joy was accepted to the American Studies Association's 2020 conference for the "(Re)Imagining Trans Futures" panel. Kamau is currently a Ph.D. candidate in History at Duke University.
