Scholarships, Awards and Grants
The Department of Theatre and Dance provides scholarships to assist with tuition, as well as monetary awards for supplemental (non-tuition) funding, to a select number of majors.
Talent Award Day 2025
The Department of Theatre and Dance traditionally conducts its annual Talent Award Day in January.
This is an opportunity for incoming freshman and transfer students to audition or submit a portfolio to be considered for department scholarships. Students must have applied to the College of Charleston to be able to participate.
The 2025 Talent Award Day will be held on January 18, 2025. Registration is now open.
Registration for Talent Award Day will close Friday, January 10th, 2025.
Beginning this year, we are proud to announce that Talent Award Day is a no-cost program.
Example schedule:
- 9-9:30am: Welcome and check-in
- 9:30-10:15am: Group welcome, Q&A with faculty and current CofC students
- 10:15am-12:15pm: Technique classes, master classes, and facility tours
- 12:15-3pm: Small group sessions with current students, dance solos and interviews, acting auditions and interviews, and design/production portfolio reviews and interviews
Distinguished Achievement
Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) awarded national recognition to students, faculty and alumni involved in our 2022 production of Violet.
