Student Involvement
Students in the Carter Real Estate Center work closely with professors and local industry professionals to enhance and reinforce their academic experience while showcasing the diverse avenues of real estate. Here’s how.
Real Estate Club
The Carter Real Estate Center works closely with the CofC Real Estate Club (a student led organization) to host a variety of events that involve networking, speakers, professional career advice, exclusive property tours and fun social events within the community. Every semester new events are planned and coordinated. Follow the club on Instagram to attend upcoming events!
Panama Canal Summer Study Abroad Trip
Students and faculty go on a week-long study of real estate and global logistics in the country of Panama with an emphasis on the canal expansion and its impact on global trade.
Career Workshops
Real estate students sit down one-on-one with a variety of industry professionals for a chance to practice interview skills, seek career advice, interview for jobs and internships, and learn how to network. This event is a student-favorite because of all the professionals you can meet in one evening!
Guest Speakers
Mentors in the community from near and far visit to speak to our students about their paths to success and tips of the trade.
This level of industry engagement is full of insight and hands-on experience that can’t be obtained in the classroom. Our guest speakers provide networking opportunities with several connections that often lead to internships and job offers.
Other experiential learning opportunities for students include:
- Internships
- Industry luncheons
- Receptions and award ceremonies
- Social events
