Carter Real Estate Center


The Carter Real Estate Center is a real estate education and research center located within the College of Charleston’s School of Business. Established in 2006 with support from Ben Carter and the Carter family, the Center provides outstanding education and research to advance real estate knowledge.

The Center focuses on preparing students for careers in the real estate profession, including:

  • development and urban renewal
  • investment
  • finance
  • appraisal
  • sales, leasing, and marketing
All areas of study emphasize an awareness of ethical, socially responsible and environmental issues.

What We Do

  • Promote the College of Charleston’s real estate programs, including the first-of-its-kind commercial real estate finance major
  • Provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the real estate industry
  • Offer an in-depth curriculum to prepare students for long-term career success in real estate
  • Promote networking opportunities between students and practicing real estate professionals
  • Engage in academic and applied research that expands the real estate body of knowledge
