Joint Accreditation
Public Safety is a nationally-accredited law enforcement organization.
Public Safety is accredited by two independent, nationally-recognized accrediting agencies: The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (IACLEA).
CALEA Accreditation
After conducting an inspection, assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) awarded the Advanced Law Enforcement Accreditation to the College of Charleston Department of Public Safety.
The College of Charleston's CALEA Accredidation Portal may be accessed here. On this page, our partners may submit comments or conderns regarding our compliance with CALEA standards, egagement in community service, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for re-accredidation.
IACLEA Accreditation
The department is also accredited by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators Accreditation Commission (IACLEA) and was formally recognized at the awards ceremony held during the Opening General Session of the IACLEA Annual Conference.
