  • Application Requirements

    Before applying to Bachelor of Professional Studies program, ensure you meet the following criteria:

    • Be at least 21 years old OR hold an associate's degree
    • Have earned a high school diploma (or equivalent)

    Foundational Coursework (30 credit hours)

    Students will need to complete 30 credit hours of program prerequisites in the following:

    • Oral and Written Communication (6-7 credit hours)
    • Humanities and Fine Arts (6 credit hours)
    • History (3 credit hours)
    • Social and Behavioral Sciences (6 credit hours)
    • Natural Science/Mathematics (12 credit hours)

    Note: An A.A/A.S. from a South Carolina technical college meets all of the above prerequisites.

    Online students may be eligible for a variety of financial aid options to help make earning your degree more affordable. Start by completing the FAFSA to determine your eligibility, then explore funding sources to find the best fit for your goals and budget.

    Ways to Pay for Your Online Program:

    • Federal & State Aid: Grants and student loans may be available based on your FAFSA results.
    • Military Assistance: Active-duty service members, veterans and eligible dependents may qualify for education benefits.
    • Employer Tuition Benefits: Many employers offer tuition assistance or reimbursement programs to support your education. Talk to your employer to find out if they offer any benefits to help support your education costs.
    • Scholarships: Institutional and external scholarships can help reduce your overall cost.
    • Payment Plans: Flexible payment options allow you to spread out tuition over time.
    • Epic Scholars: Students with an A.A.S. from a listed partner technical college of an A.A. or A.S. from any South Carolina Technical College may be eligible. The Epic Scholars Program guarantees admission to the Professional Studies Program and includes a financial grant and 20% tuition discount.

Follow these steps to confirm your enrollment, access your accounts and complete your next steps as an admitted student.
  • Connect With the College

    Set up your credentials and access your MyPortal account.

    • Locate your CWID in your acceptance materials
    • Log into MyPortal
      • Username: Enter your CWID followed by @g.cofc.edu (e.g., 12345678@g.cofc.edu). 
      • Password: Enter your CWID, your six-digit date of birth and “A!” for your password. 
        (e.g., if your CWID is 90000009 and your DOB (MMDDYY) is Jan 05, 1995, then your initial password is: 90000009010595A!)  
    • Set up multi-factor authentication
      • In MyPortal, you will be prompted to set up multi-factor authentication 
      • Open the authenticator app on your mobile device and click (+) to add your account. 
      • Choose work or school account for the account type. 
      • The app will launch a QR code reader. (Allow access to the device's camera if prompted.) 
      • Log into your account on your computer, following the instructions below. You will use your phone to scan the QR code that displays on the computer after you log into your account (step 6 under 'On your computer'). 
    • Update your password

    New Student Orientation

    Once your enrollment deposit is received, you'll gain access to a series of online orientation modules and a virtual group session. Details and next steps will be sent to your email.

    Submit Transcripts

    • Send official transcripts from all institutions attended
    • Electronic submission is preferred
      • Sent directly by your previous college or university registrar’s office to admapplicants@cofc.edu.  
      • Or, via secure transmission service (eScript, SCOIR National Student Clearing House, Naviance, Docufide). 

    Verify Lawful Presence
