Internship Profile: Angelina Fierko

College of Charleston COMM student Angelina Fierko completed an internship with the Philadelphia Eagles Ticket and Fan Services department during the summer of 2024. Check out her first hand account below of all the exciting experiences she got to take part in during the internship!

This past summer, I had the special opportunity to be an intern for the Philadelphia Eagles in the Ticket and Fan Services Department. Growing up outside of Philadelphia while frequently attending sports games and concerts at Lincoln Financial Field, I was beyond excited to be a part of such an amazing organization.

The internship ran from May through August and was based on academic credit. As a Communications major, I took it upon myself to apply for the Lindner Family Scholarship, and I was incredibly grateful to be named a recipient. Upon receiving the support of the scholarship and the guidance of Dr. Beth Goodier, I knew I had the resources to put all my energy into the internship.

Leading up to the internship, I knew that no matter how the summer played out, my time with the Eagles was going to be a great learning experience. However, I truly did not anticipate just how much of a positive impact it would have on my career outlook.

Along with six other interns, I was able to learn the ins and outs of ticketing using the archtics ticketing system for major events. It was extremely eye-opening to see the hard work that goes into ticketing for concerts and sports games. Whether in football season or not, there is always a great amount of work surrounding ticketing for Lincoln Financial Field.

I also heavily focused on guest services to ensure that Season Ticket Members and event attendees had enjoyable experiences during sporting events, concerts, training camp, and more. It was an extremely busy summer for The Linc, as we hosted concerts such as Zach Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Rolling Stones, and P!NK. As for sporting events, we held the NCAA Lacrosse Championship, the Liverpool vs. Arsenal match, the Eagles Autism Challenge, and the Eagles Women’s Football Fest. Each of these events required the Fan Services Department to ensure guests had positive and memorable experiences at our stadium. In unison with Ticketing and Fan Services, I had the pleasure of collaborating and interacting with other departments within the organization.

My passion for sports and live-entertainment only increased throughout the summer as I was constantly surrounded by energetic fans and hard-working individuals. Working for the Philadelphia Eagles for three months consisted of immense learning opportunities and growth, and it was nothing short of a dream come true. I extend my gratitude to my mentors and colleagues within the Eagles Organization, as well as the Lindner Family and Dr. Goodier for assisting me in carrying out this opportunity.

For students who are looking for extra support to complete an internship revolving around Communications, I strongly encourage you to look into the Lindner Award, as well as any other funding opportunities from the Comm Department! As I enter my junior year at CofC majoring in Communications and English, I will be completing a Sports Marketing Internship with the CofC Athletic Department. I cannot wait to apply all I have learned to the rest of my academic and professional journey!
