  • Academic Probation

    The Center for Academic Performance and Persistence is committed to supporting students while they work on returning to Good Academic Standing at the College. 

    All students on probation have the opportunity to connect with a Peer Educator on a weekly basis to support their academic recovery.

  • Academic Suspension

    Students that do not show Significant Academic Progress in their cumulative GPA during their Academic Probation period, or that do not meet the conditions outlined in their Conditional Readmission Contract, are subject to Academic Suspension.

  • Complete Withdrawal

    In the event a student decides to exit the College of Charleston permanently, they are encouraged to formally withdraw from the institution through the Center for Academic Performance and Persistence (CAPP).

  • Leave of Absence

    The College of Charleston offers a Leave of Absence (LOA) to students who are stepping away from their educational experience for up to two major consecutive semesters (Fall/Spring). 

    To be eligible for a Leave of Absence you must have a minimum of 2.0 cumulative GPA.
