Year at a Glance Breakdown

Here's more information about the Charleston MBA curriculum.
  • Credits

Thirty-nine (39) credits are required for graduation.

  • Online Proficiency Courses

Because our program attracts a wide array of students with diverse backgrounds, academic degrees, work experience and talent, it is important to establish a common thread of knowledge and vocabulary in fundamental areas before students begin classes. Accepted students complete online coursework to establish a baseline understanding of business principles before classes begin. This enables instructors to start classes at a competency level appropriate for an executive graduate program.

  • Residency Weeks and Weekends

Residency weeks will bookend the start and end of the eighteen-month program. The first residency week will include orientation and onboarding, professional and career development workshops, and academic coursework.

The final residency week is scheduled around the May commencement ceremony. This week consists of the final in a series of three Executive Communications courses, the Integrated Capstone class and Advanced Corporate Finance class.

Monthly, on-campus sessions are held in the first four terms. Each in-person session is hosted on campus for Friday/Saturday classes. Other co-curricular opportunities may be hosted during this time too, including executive speaker lectures and networking events.
