Lost Key, Fob or Cougar Card
Lose something? Don't worry - we are here to help!
Sometimes it's hard to keep up with it all. We've made it easy to get back into your space if you lose your key, fob or Cougar Card. Just follow these steps.
Locked Out
If you’re locked out of your room or suite, you can check out a loaner key from Public Safety for up to 24 hours, free of charge.
- Log into the MyHousing/Dining portal and click Need a Key.
- Select loaner key from Public Safety and follow the prompts.
- Once you complete this form, you may pick up your loaner key at Public Safety (89 St. Philip St., next to Mail Services on the ground floor of the PG parking garage). This is also where you will return the key.
Important: This is a temporary key. It must be returned within 24 hours from the time you check it out. If you do not return the key, your locks will be changed, and your student eBill will be charged $100.
Lost Key
If you’ve lost your key entirely, we’ll need to change your locks for everyone’s security. Lock changes are $100 and will be charged to your student eBill. (Your roommates or suitemates will not also be charged this fee.)
- Log into the MyHousing/Dining portal and click Need a Key.
- Select lock change due to lost key and follow any prompts.
- Once your locks have been changed, you will get an email from Campus Services HQ to get your new key.
- If you need a temporary key while your locks are being changed, follow the instructions in Locked Out for getting a loaner key. (If your locks are being changed, you may keep a loaner key longer than 24 hours - until your new key is ready.)
Lost Fob
If you’ve lost your fob, email campusservices@charleston.edu from your CofC email requesting a temporary or replacement fob. Then, you can pick one up from Campus Services HQ during regular office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.). After hours, you may go to Public Safety (89 St. Philip St.) to request access to your building.
Replacement fobs are $20 each and will be charged to your student eBill.
Lost Cougar Card
Just follow these instructions to get a new one. A replacement fee applies.
