Scholarship Opportunities

Russian is a classified as a Critical Language by the U.S. State Department. This means that students of Russian can apply for the Critical Language Scholarship, which fully funds a summer study of Russian language.

The Russian Studies Program at the College of Charleston has had success in recent years with helping our students receive the highly competitive CLS Scholarship with 3 CLS award recipients since 2018. If you are interested in applying for this scholarship for Russian, or discussing other scholarship options, please contact Irina Erman at ermanim@cofc.edu.
