Take a class at the College of Charleston
If you are 60 years old or older AND a resident of South Carolina, you can enroll in classes at the College of Charleston. Each semester, approximately 400 60+ students enroll in classes at the College. These students may be auditing classes or taking courses for credit.
60+ STUDENT APPLICATION
Tuition is free, however there is a $50 registration fee. You are also responsible for purchasing books or paying additional course fees (like lab fees and studio art fees), where applicable. -
Great Decisions
Great Decisions is America's largest discussion program on world affairs. The program model involves reading the Great Decisions Briefing Book, some groups watch a video and folks meet in a Discussion Group to discuss the most critical global issues facing America today. The 2025 eight topics are American Foreign Policy at a Crossroads; U.S. Changing Leadership of the World Economy; U.S.-China Relations; India: Between China, the West, and the Global South; International Cooperation on Climate Change; The Future of NATO and European Security; American National Security Author: Julie George; and American Foreign Policy in the Middle East: Taking Stock and Looking Ahead.The Great Decisions program provides reading background information and policy options for the eight most critical issues facing America each year and serves as the focal text for discussion groups across the country.

Enjoy the Charleston County Parks
Enjoy all of the Charleston County Parks with a Gold Pass that is only $60 per year for seniors. This includes admission to many beaches, parks and special events throughout the year.

Senior Expos
Charleston is fortunate to have two separate, back-to-back senior expos on March 31 and April 1 at two separate locations. Both are free, including parking.

MUSC Center for Healthy Aging Senior Expo

5001 Coliseum Dr, North Charleston, SC 29418The MUSC Center for Healthy Aging Senior Expo is the perfect opportunity for Seniors and their Caregivers to navigate the complex world of Senior Care in Charleston.
Attendees get help navigating the many choices of facilities: Assisted Living, Independent Living, Hospice, Home Care. Health Insurance, Medicare, hearing, and mobility assistance questions are addressed.
Advice on financial planning, wills and trusts, and veterans benefits can also be found.
Many local providers including MUSC physicians, researchers will be on-site to offer complimentary health screenings, including fall risk assessments, blood pressure, and glucose.
The MUSC Healthy Aging Expo will also feature live, interactive demonstrations throughout the day like chair yoga, Qigong, dancing and cooking. MUSC PT and OT students will be available throughout the day to help attendees maximize their visit!
Admission and parking are free and there will be parking lot shuttles.
