About

Deana is a native of Tampa, Florida, and joined the College in January 2025. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication from the University of South Florida. She has a heart for working with students and is excited to support them as they navigate the admissions process!

Hometown: Tampa, Fla.

Favorite spot on campus:  Cistern Yard. It's the heart of campus and the perfect place to experience the charm and history of the College of Charleston.

Favorite College of Charleston moment/tradition: Spring Commencement. This is when graduates take part in a cherished Charleston tradition, wearing white dresses or white dinner jackets to mark the occasion.

Favorite Charleston restaurant: Home Team BBQ (You have to try their nachos!)

My best college search process tip: Have grace with yourself, ask questions and take things one step at a time. It can be an overwhelming process, but know that we are here to support you every step of the way!
