Transferring Your Credits

Courses eligible for transfer are evaluated based on content, level, comparability of the course completed and any program accreditation of the institution at which the course was taken. College-level coursework will only transfer if a grade of C or better has been earned at a regionally accredited institution. Courses that are technical or vocational in nature cannot be accepted in transfer unless similar content or courses are offered for credit by the College of Charleston.

Credit can be evaluated in three ways: equivalent, elective, or not applicable for transfer. As a rule, credit for a specific College of Charleston catalog course will be granted when the academic department has determined that the content, level and pre-requisites of the course completed elsewhere are equivalent to the College of Charleston course. Students may be asked to retake outdated coursework and courses completed more than ten years ago may be subject to additional review.
