Performance Highlights

Genese Gee-Schmidtke (she/hers) is coming to the College of Charleston from the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. A teacher of the fine and performing arts for over 10 years now, and students ranging from  K-12 to adult collegiate learners, she is eager to step back into the classroom.

Genese has founded a fine and performing arts program called OurCorner. It’s motto is “Respect Art, Create Art, Live Art…Do Good!” Through this program students discover their inner truths and actively display their positive creativity through productions for social justice and community awareness.

She hopes her students are able to see her passion and discover their own for the stage as a safe place for storytelling and bearing the truths of audiences and performers alike.
