The College of Charleston Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Program holds pre-accreditation status from the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation, located at 2600 Virginia Avenue, NW, Washington, DC, 20037. 202-909-2487. Holding pre-accreditation status does not guarantee that initial accreditation by NLN CNEA will be received.
We are pleased to announce that our nursing program has officially been granted Pre-Candidacy status by the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
What This Means & Why It’s a Major Achievement:
This milestone is a significant validation of our program's quality. Pre-Candidacy was granted after the CNEA conducted a rigorous review of our comprehensive institutional paperwork. Based on this extensive evaluation, the commission determined that our program has the strong likelihood - though not a guarantee - of succeeding in the upcoming site visit for full accreditation.
Why This Matters for You:
- For Current Students: This directly protects and enhances your educational investment. When full accreditation is officially achieved, it will be retroactive to the exact date our Pre-Candidacy was granted. This means current students will graduate from a nationally recognized, accredited program.
- For Clinical Partners: This status reaffirms that you are collaborating with a high-caliber institution. It ensures our students are being trained under a strict, evidence-based framework that aligns with top national standards.
Next Steps:
We are now entering the next phase of this multi-year process, which includes a comprehensive self-study and an upcoming on-site evaluation by the CNEA team.

Tuition & Fees
The College of Charleston School of Health Sciences is committed to making your RN to BSN education affordable and accessible.
Tuition is based on enrollment status, with full-time and part-time options designed to meet your individual needs. RN to BSN students also receive a 20% reduction on in-state undergraduate tuition, and qualifying graduates from South Carolina’s two-year colleges may be eligible for additional EPIC Scholar financial support.
