About the School of Health Sciences

The School of Health Sciences, located in the heart of Charleston, provides a dynamic educational environment. Our dedicated faculty utilize cutting-edge instructional technology and practices to challenge students in the classroom, fostering critical thinking and real-world application of course content. Proximity to the Medical University of South Carolina and the city's burgeoning biotech industry offers our students ample opportunities for experiential learning through internships, shadowing, and research.

Charleston's vibrant outdoor scene, with its parks, trails, and beaches, provides a perfect backdrop for an active lifestyle. The School of Health Sciences houses the Department of Health and Human Performance (HEHP), offering majors in Exercise Science, Public Health (B.S. and B.A.), Health Services Administration & Management, and a minor in Health Informatics. We also provide PALM courses to promote health and activity among all students, alongside additional experiential learning opportunities through research, study abroad programs, internships, and various student organizations.
