Crossing the Cistern Program

The School of Health Sciences Crossing the Cistern (CTC) Program is a momentum program designed to help improve academic standing as well as support, engage, challenge, and celebrate students along their path to graduation. The primary goals of CTC surround the inclusion, retention, and well-being of our students, with a particular focus on diverse student populations. The program features academic advising, individual and group mentoring from SOHS faculty and staff, scholarship support, extracurricular programming, and interactive peer communities to help students navigate the academic experience. CTC is a one-year program for students who are in their sophomore, junior or senior year, with the option to renew annually through senior year.

Program Eligibility:
  • Open to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors
  • Declared SOHS Major
  • Cumulative GPA between 1.5 and 2.8
Student Support:
  • Up to $325/semester ($650 for the academic year) in scholarship support is available for each CTC student
  • Opportunity to receive additional funding of $1250 for experiential learning (e.g., study abroad, internship, mentored research).
