Program Content
CEYC is an interactive program with blended learnings, unique experiences, team collaboration, and social activities, designed for high-achieving high school students interested in engineering. This unique experience allows participants to explore various careers in the field.
The program contains education and experiential learning, team collaboration, exclusive corporate and factory visits, unique experiences, executive interfaces, networking, friendly competitions, academic path coaching, social events, and fun activities including outdoor sports. Students will also be exposed to some of the many other offerings that the College of Charleston has to offer in academics, athletics, interest groups, and student support.
A Head Start with Unparalleled Access
Students will meet college leaders and have exclusive access to faculty, major corporations and executives, and engaging sessions with engineering and corporate professionals.
The CEYC program is designed to immerse students in the field of engineering and introduce them to the relevant and complex issues the business world currently faces.
Through site visits, executive lectures, and insider access, students will gain knowledge and insights valuable and necessary to begin or further their educational and professional journeys. By visiting manufacturing and corporate facilities around Charleston, students will experience firsthand what it’s like to pursue a career in engineering. They will also have the opportunity to connect directly with industry experts through our unique partnerships.
Collaboration and Friendship
Students will gain the most out of their college studies and be more successful in their future careers, when they understand and are good at team-work and collaboration; these are essentials that future employers are looking for. To ensure quality learnings and successful team collaboration, the program has a cohort of a maximum of 60 students, divided into smaller teams. Students will be lodged in residence hall rooms that each sleeps two. As a participant, you will belong to the college, the group, your team, and have a roommate. Each team will have dedicated senior students as their hosts throughout the week. You will make important connections and meet new friends, perhaps for life.
