The Office of Professional Development in Education supports school districts and agencies by offering efficient and effective graduate professional development opportunities for educators.
What We Do
The Office of Professional Development in Education (OPDE) provides graduate professional development courses in collaboration with schools, districts, and other agencies that offer professional development experiences for educators. We work with practitioners to design quality, rigorous graduate-level professional development courses, meeting the academic standards of the College of Charleston while addressing the needs of today’s professional educators.
The School of Education is approved to recommend for certification and/or endorsement within their approved undergraduate and MAT programs. The Office of Professional Development works with the School of Education to offer specific course groupings (cohorts) that when completed will lead to a recommended certification area within an approved MAT program.
