Congratulations to the 2026-2027 class of Market Process Scholars!

Salomé Aiach is a sophomore from Paris, France. She is majoring in Economics, Chemistry, and History. She serves as President of Hillel Charleston and is actively involved in the Honors College, where she is a member of the Honors College Alumni Engagement Committee, an Honors Ambassador, and part of the Dean Student Advisory Council. She also works with the International Admissions team to support incoming students. Through the Market Process Scholars Program, she hopes to join an ambitious community and deepen her understanding of economic principles, while developing her research, leadership, and professional skills through exposure to academic and business leaders.

Autumn Burkett is a senior from Anderson, SC, studying Marketing and Biology, entering her second year as a Market Process Scholar. Outside of the program and academics, she has been honored to serve on the executive board for the Neuroscience and Book Clubs, as well as for the Cougar Activities Board, in which she has been a program coordinator, social media coordinator, and will now be the Director of Marketing. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, reading, walking around Charleston, and thrifting. Autumn is very excited to continue learning through the program.

Avery Causey is a rising Junior at the College of Charleston, majoring in Business Administration and Economics with a minor in Studio Art. She is a part of the Arch Scholars program with the Honors College and is the President of the Chrestomathic Literary Society.

Laurel Craft is a senior, majoring in Accounting and Political Science, from Richmond Virginia. In her free time, she enjoys reading, being a part of Model United Nations, and working out. She is extremely excited to be starting year two as a Market Process Scholar at the College of Charleston.

Rachel Ganz is a sophomore in the Honors College majoring in Finance and Supply Chain Management. Outside the program, she serves as an AI Ambassador for the School of Business and a Supply Chain Management Student Ambassador. She is also involved in several clubs, including the Intentionality Club, Club Soccer, and Watersports Club. Outside of school, Rachel enjoys traveling and playing sports. Rachel is excited to continue exploring her interests in free markets and public choice as a Market Process Scholar.

Eleanor Hilsbeck is an incoming sophomore in the College of Charleston Honors College, majoring in Economics with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Outside of class, she is a member of the Intentionality club and Alpha Delta Pi.

Denise Hurd is a rising senior from Collegeville, Pennsylvania. She is majoring in accounting with a minor in business management and economics. Outside the program, she represents Charleston as a C40 tour guide, sharing her love for the College with prospective students. She is also the treasurer for the Alliance for Planet Earth, advocating for sustainability initiatives around Charleston.  Denise is excited to continue pursuing her passion for free markets and public choice as a Market Procress Scholar.  

Lexi Redd is a senior in the Honors College, double-majoring in Economics and International Studies with a minor in Spanish. She is also a member of the Schottland Scholar Program within the School of Business. On campus, she is involved with the 1967 Legacy Scholars, Charleston Fellows, and International Scholars programs. She serves as a conversational Peer Teacher in the Department of Hispanic Studies. This summer, she will be traveling to Washington, D.C. to participate in the TFAS Academic Internship Program on the Economic + Public Policy track. Upon graduation, Lexi hopes to attend graduate school to pursue a Master’s Degree in Economics.

Madelyn Williams is a sophomore majoring in Economics. She hails from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and is a member of the Honors College at College of Charleston. Madelyn is heavily involved on campus through various clubs and Greek organizations. She hopes in the future to work in the Business Law field.
