Luther Cochrane
Chairman and CEO, BE&K
Luther Cochrane was the Chairman and CEO of BE&K (now KBR) Building Group, a large commercial construction company, which he founded eight years ago and sold to a larger, global and publicly traded company four years ago. In Charleston, Cochrane has been involved with building the new Boeing facility as well as the new Roper St. Francis hospital in Mount Pleasant. Cochrane currently serves on the Board of a private equity firm, and is the non-Executive Chairman of a publicly traded gaming company.
Cochrane practiced law for approximately 16 years at Griffin, Cochrane and Marshall, ran a large publicly traded development company for two years, and has been at the head of a variety of construction companies, including one of the largest global construction managers in the world, since 1990.
Cochrane lives in Charleston with his wife, Margaret, and has six children. He enjoys golf, running, reading and leadership development.
