  • Are online degrees from the College of Charleston the same as on-campus degrees?

    Yes. Our online courses feature the same rigorous curriculum, expert faculty and academic standards as our on-campus programs.

  • Are the College of Charleston’s online programs accredited?

    Yes, the College of Charleston is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees.

  • How do online classes work at the College of Charleston?

    Online courses are delivered through the Oaks learning management system and may feature a mix of asynchronous assignments and, depending on the course, synchronous live sessions to ensure flexibility for students with busy schedules.

  • Will my diploma say “online”? 

    No. Your diploma and transcript will not indicate that your degree was earned online. You will graduate with the same prestigious credential as our on-campus students. 

  • How long will it take to earn my degree?

    Program length varies. Many students complete their online bachelor’s degree in about two years, depending on course load and any transfer credits. The RN-BSN and Bachelor of Professional Studies program offer seven-week accelerated course formats to help students progress quickly. The Create Program allows students to complete their course work in two years after transferring from Trident Tech.

  • Can I complete an online program while working full-time?

    Yes. College of Charleston programs are designed for working adults and provide flexibility and support to help you achieve your academic and career goals.

  • Can I transfer credits into an online program?

    Yes. All online programs at the College of Charleston, including the Bachelor of Professional Studies (B.P.S.) and RN-BSN, are transfer friendly. Students are encouraged to participate in pre-transfer advising sessions to help maximize previous credits.. Students transferring from a South Carolina Technical College may also qualify for the EPIC Scholars Program

  • How much do online programs cost?

    College of Charleston online program tuition is set at a competitive rate specific to the program. Prospective students should check the Treasurer's Office website for the most current tuition rates. 

  • Do online students have access to campus resources?

    Yes. College of Charleston online students have access to the same resources as on-campus students, including the library, career center, tutoring services and IT support.
