Charleston Music Fest

Charleston Music Fest presents the finest classical and contemporary chamber music by world-class artists to Lowcountry audiences. It develops new and younger audiences for chamber music and provides educational activities which encourage, broaden and deepen appreciation of the chamber music art form.

Guest musicians perform and also mentor our students in master classes to enhance their academic experience.

  • Past Performances

    Kyiv Trio (2023-24)
    Kyiv Trio brings together three virtuosos from a similar background – violinist Nazar Pylatyuk, cellist Natalia Khoma and pianist Volodymyr Vynnytsky.

    All three members were born in Ukraine and have achieved international recognition as competition winners. They each boast illustrious careers as soloists, recitalists, and chamber musicians, having graced prestigious stages alongside major orchestras and at premier chamber music series across the world. The Kyiv Trio is an extraordinary musical collaboration that promises to captivate and inspire.

    The "Masterworks" program featured the chamber music works, L. van Beethoven Piano Trio Op. 1, No. 1 in E-flat major, and J. Brahms Piano Trio in E-flat major, Op. 40.

    Great Romantics (2022-23) 
    Charleston Music Fest presents "Great Romantics" featuring two monumental works: Smetana’s Piano trio in G minor, Op. 15 and Schumann’s Piano Quartet in E♭ Major, Op. 47.

    Beethoven (2021-22)
    A fundraising concert of Beethoven works performed by faculty members Yuriy Bekker (violin), Natalia Khoma (cello) and Volodymyr Vynnytsky (piano). BEETHOVEN program: Variations in E Flat Major from Mozart’s opera Die Zauberflöte for cello & piano, as well as Piano Trio in B-flat major, Op. 97, Archduke Trio.
