Through targeted surveys, the Office for Institutional Effectiveness gathers valuable feedback from students, alumni, faculty, and staff to monitor progress, drive improvements, and ensure the College's goals.
These Surveys provide insight into key areas such as academic quality, student experience, operational performance, and student outcomes, helping to inform data-driven decisions and promote continuous improvement across the institution.

College of Charleston First Destination Surveys
First Destination Surveys inquire about employment, additional education, and level of satisfaction with the College of Charleston. This survey is administered annually to alumni six months, one year, three years, and five years post-graduation.

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)
The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), through the Indiana Center for Postsecondary Research, collects information about student participation in programs and activities related to their learning and personal development.

Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE)
The Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE), through the Indiana Center for Postsecondary Research, is administered to first-year, transfer, and older students prior to the start of fall or winter classes.
BCSSE collects data about entering students' prior academic and co-curricular experiences, as well as their expectations for participating in educationally purposeful activities during the coming college year.

College of Charleston Senior Exit Surveys
The Senior Exit Survey is administered annually to graduating seniors who participate in graduation rehearsal. The survey inquires about future plans and conducts a brief assessment of satisfaction with the student's academic experience.
Senior Exit Survey results are provided by request through the Office for Institutional Effectiveness.

ETS Proficiency Profile
The ETS Proficiency Profile is a test of college-level skills in reading, writing, critical thinking and mathematics designed to measure the academic skills developed through general education courses, rather than the subject knowledge specifically taught in those courses.
