Room Selection

Selecting your room is easy! Let us walk you through the basics.

Once it's time to select your room (don't worry - Campus Housing will email you), you’ll need to log into the MyHousing/Dining portal. Once there, click the Return to Housing and Meal Plan button, and then continue with this year’s housing application on the term-selection page.

Room Selection At a Glance


Selecting your room on your own or as a roommate group is easy. Just follow these instructions.
  • First Step: Find your desired space

    To select your desired space, go to the Room Selection page of the portal. First, select your residence hall or house. From there, you'll see room options.

    Tips for finding a room:

    • Use the left-hand column to filter the types and locations of rooms you see on the right. (This function might not be available if you are a first-year student.)
    • The room card shows the number of space(s) available, room type and your cost/semester. Each circle represents a room in the suite; the blue-outlined circle shows how many beds are in the room you’re viewing.
    • Click Show Room Info at the bottom of the room card for more information about the room, including floor plans. You can also see who has already selected a space, if anyone, and their profile information and email address.
  • Selecting on Your Own

    To select your room, click on the room you wish to occupy, then click the Add to Cart button. Once you've added your space to the cart, you'll select your bed from the drop-down menu on the right. Then, click the Assign Beds button. 

    The final step is to click the Confirm Room Selection(s) button. With that, you're done with room selection! You will be taken to the Application Status page.

  • Selecting as a Roommate Group

    To select your and your roommate/suitemates' spaces, click on the room you wish to occupy, then click the Add to Cart button. Once you've added your space to the cart, you'll select your bed from the drop-down menu on the right. Then, click the Assign Beds button. Next you will assign your other group members to their spaces by clicking the Assign Beds button and assigning the group member.

    The final step is to click the Confirm Room Selection(s) button. With that, you're done with room selection! You will be taken to the Application Status page.

  • Changing Your Room Selection

    If you decide you'd like to change your or your group’s room selection after confirming it, it's also easy to change your room. (You will not give up your previous selection until you click Confirm Room Change.)

    From the Application Status page:

    • Click the Change Room button.
    • Select your new building on the Room Change Building Selection page, then choose your new room on the Room Change Room List by clicking Add to Cart.
    • Select and/or assign beds on the Room Change-Assign Beds page and then confirm your newly selected room(s) and bed(s) by clicking Confirm Room Change.
    • Your room selection(s) have been changed after that.
