Accelerated Bachelor's to Master's Program (4+1)
Qualifying undergraduates have the opportunity to complete their BS in Computer Science in four years, followed by an MS in Computer and Information Sciences in one additional year. This allows you to take graduate courses to replace undergraduate ones.
Undergraduate Eligibility Requirements:
- Declared major BS Computer Science
- 90+ credit hours earned (senior rank)
- Completed the following courses (22 credit hours minimum):
- CSCI 230 Data Structures and Algorithms
- CSCI 250 Introduction to Computer Organization and Assembly Language Programming
- at least one CSCI course numbered 310 or above (excluding CSCI 397, 399 and 499)
- MATH 307 Discrete Structures II
- Overall GPA >= 3.2
- Major GPA >= 3.5
- Two recommendation letters from Computer Science faculty
Upon admission, you can apply up to 12 credit hours of graduate-level work towards your MS Degree, if you earned a grade of B or better in these courses.
You may take no more than 12 total graduate credits and no more than 6 graduate credits per semester while still an undergraduate.
