John Creed Award
The John Creed Award was established to provide rising juniors and seniors in the Political Science Department funding to pursue learning opportunities outside the College of Charleston classroom. Examples of learning opportunities include support for academic workshops, conference presentations, internships, and study abroad. The John Creed Award will range from $2,500 - $3,000 in an academic year.

Fisher Parker Travel Award
$6,000 has been made available to provide awards to students who wish to pursue internships or coursework for class credit outside of the greater Charleston metro area, including study abroad based on the following criteria:
Requirements
- Students must be a Junior or Senior in a School of Humanities and Social Sciences major. Students should demonstrate through their application and cover letter that financial support is critical to making the internship or travel opportunity possible.
- Internships/coursework may be for fall, spring or summer semesters.
- Students will be enrolled in the College of Charleston during their internship or study abroad so that they receive credit hours.
Preferences
- 3.0 G.P.A. is preferred
- Students who are employed, thereby necessitating an award to help cover time away from work to intern.

HSS Internship Award
Two awards of $1000 will be available to third-year students (57+ earned hours) majoring within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Qualified applicants will maintain at least a 2.8 overall GPA with a record of success in their academic and professional lives. Preference given to those with financial need. Students must be enrolled in a summer HSS course for the internship. This course must be for academic credit.

HSS Study Abroad Award
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences is pleased to offer a competitive scholarship to students who will enroll in one of the College of Charleston Study Abroad programs.
A total of $5,000 will be distributed this year to students in HSS majors. Awards typically range from $500 - $1,000.

HSS Student Travel Award
HSS Student Travel awards are offered to both graduate and undergraduate students majoring in a degree program in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). The travel awards are intended to supplement funding for research, conference presentations and conference attendance acquired through other sources at the College of Charleston. The awards will be limited to $500. This award is not for study abroad travel or networking events.

"The HSS Student Travel Award helped fund my travel to Boston for the regional conference of the Eastern Psychological Association, where I gained valuable experience in presenting research. While in Boston, our professor set up a visit to Harvard for students to see Phineas Gage’s skull!"
