Loan Forgiveness & Grants
Loan forgiveness programs are great options to help repay the cost of higher education after graduation; they provide students the opportunity to forgive the remaining balance on loans taken out during undergraduate or graduate studies. Grants provide funds to students during their studies, but the money received will be converted to a loan upon graduation.
It is important to understand each forgiveness or grant program has specific requirements to meet and should be explored in depth to see which may be a fit for your needs.
Federal TEACH Grant Program
Through the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, Congress created the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program that provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.
