Sunju Patel

Sunju Patel is a dynamic entrepreneur who found his passion in hospitality early in life. Originally from India, Mr. Patel came to College of Charleston in 1999 and ventured into the hotel business in 2004.

By the age of 29, he owned and operated his first hotel in Charleston. With many projects underway, he remains dedicated and focused on shifting the hospitality business to the next level and has more than fifteen years’ experience in the field.  Mr. Patel’s business motto has always read: “Dream big, work hard, stay focused and surround yourself with good people”. 

Mr. Patel is an avid cricket player and plays for a semi-professional cricket club, the Charleston-based U.S. Tigers Cricket Club, where he has served as team captain. When he’s not working, Mr. Patel loves to travel, do anything outdoors—tennis, squash, golf – and spend time with friends and his daughter, Simi. 

Mr. Patel serves on the Accommodations Tax Committee for the City of Charleston and remains involved with the community by promoting philanthropic goals for each business endeavor.
