Research Interest
Liu's main research areas are comparative politics and international relations with a focus on East Asia, Russia, and the United States. He is currently working on the dynamics of modernization, governance innovation, and theory & practice of statecraft. He served as President of the Association of Chinese Political Studies, and Vice President of South Carolina Political Science Association.
