Starting in spring of 2027, first- and second-year Honors College students can study together during the spring semester at The American University of Rome.

Located on the highest hill in Rome, the campus offers timeless views and unparalleled access for you and your fellow Honors students to explore all that the Eternal City has to offer.

  • Who Can Participate

    Access to Honors Abroad in Rome is open to all first- and second-year Honors students in both the University Honors Program and the General Honors College Pathway.

    The Program only runs during the Spring semester, and you'll need a valid passport to participate.

    Interested students should complete the Honors Abroad interest form to begin their journey to Rome.

    Honors Abroad in Rome partners with The American University of Rome (AUR), the oldest American degree-granting institution in the city, founded in 1969.

    AUR offers an American liberal arts education to students from around the world, with all courses taught in English.

    Located on the highest hill in Rome, the campus overlooks the historical center, offering sweeping views of the city and surrounding hills. Students have access to a wide range of courses across the liberal arts, providing a rich academic experience in one of the world’s most historically and culturally significant cities.

Access to Honors Abroad in Rome is open to all first- and second-year Honors students in both the University Honors Program and the General Honors College pathways. Space is limited, and spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
