The Department of German and Russian Studies provides students with opportunities to study the language, literature, cinema and culture of German-speaking Europe and Russia.
Fluency in German – the most spoken language in Europe – unlocks deep connections with more than 120 million native speakers globally across science, tech, sustainability, medicine and economic hubs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Our German Studies program is recognized as a Center for Excellence and builds communicative proficiency and cross-cultural agility. Upper-level courses inspire you to delve deeper into environmental initiatives, business cultures, contemporary literature and more.
The Russian Studies Program offers a multidisciplinary course of study, which combines Russian language with courses that range from vampires and folklore to politics and mass media.
