Application for Enrollment

The N.E. Miles ECDC is an academic program within the School of Education and serves as a demonstration preschool for research to advocate developmentally appropriate practices for young children. Families from the campus and community are invited to apply for enrollment to the program. Enrollment is determined on a space available basis year to year. Priority is given to siblings of currently enrolled children.

Enrollment applications may be taken as soon as a child is born, but may not be activated before then. Our waiting list is maintained for each age group in order of application date and priority. We use the waiting list to make enrollment offers, but reserve the right to structure class groups to support appropriate diversity, gender distribution, and accommodation for children with special needs. Applications are kept active until either the parents request removal from the list, or the child becomes age ineligible for admission.

ECDC is open to the public, but prioritizes meeting the needs of full-time staff, faulty, and students at the College of Charleston. Siblings of currently enrolled children are given first priority. We structure class groups to support appropriate diversity, gender distribution, and accomodation for children with special needs. A child may be placed on the waiting list at birth, and children are placed on the waiting list birth, and children are placed on the waiting list by date of application.

**Please submit a $20.00 application fee to the College of Charleston using MarketPlace. (Application fee is waived for current full-time CofC students). This form will not be activated without receipt of application fee.

Note: Enrollment offers are made each spring for the beginning of the fall academic term. September 1 is the cut-off birth date for class age groups (2's, 3's, 4's, Kdg).
