Volunteer for the CCL
Join the Committee on Commemoration and Landscapes as we share histories of diverse communities at C of C and in our neighborhood! Volunteer to work on an existing project or propose a new one.
Please contact the CCL’s co-chairs if you are interested in joining us!

Propose a Project
Have a project or idea you’d like to see the CCL undertake? Submit your proposal to commemoration@charleston.edu.
Proposals should be 2-4 pages long, in MS Word or PDF format, and should include a short bibliography of three or more relevant sources. Images, while not required, can be very helpful in communicating your vision for this project. If you include images, please embed them within your report.
Please include:
- What you’re proposing
- Why it’s important
- How it might be carried out (steps in process, possible timeline)
- Estimated costs or other resources needed (not required, but extremely helpful to us)
- Names and email addresses of others who are interested in working on proposal if you know of anyone
