Ethics Hotline
The College of Charleston has an Ethics Policy which applies to all employees.
Our Ethics Hotline provides any member of the campus community with a simple risk-free way to anonymously and confidentially report activities that may involve unethical or otherwise inappropriate activity or behavior.
Call the Ethics Hotline at 843.953.3186 (24/7)
or
Report information directly to the Internal Auditor at 843.953.3188 during normal business hours.
Calling the Ethics Hotline
- Calls to the Hotline go directly to voicemail. Leave a message.
- You do not have to identify yourself. However, it would be helpful to know your identity in case additional information is needed.
- Every effort will be made to keep any information you provide confidential.
- The Ethics Line is not equipped with caller ID.
The Internal Auditor will carefully review all reports received by the Hotline to determine the most appropriate course of action based on the information provided.
When to Call the Ethics Hotline
Call the Ethics Hotline if other mechanisms are not successful in addressing an issue that you feel may be unethical:
- Fraud
- Misappropriation of assets
- Conflicts of interest
- Deficiencies in the College's internal controls
- Volations of laws and regulations.
This is not an emergency service. Call 911 or Public Safety if there is an immediate threat to life or property.
Please report theft, robbery, and vandalism to Public Safety (843.953.5611).
A Crime Action Line (843.953.4998) is available to anonymously report any information critical to the safety and security of the College community. Also, Public Safety has implemented a Silent Witness program which is a mechanism for anonymously reporting knowledge of criminal activities.
