The Studio Art Summer Immersion (SASI) program at the College of Charleston is an intensive two-week summer experience designed for local high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a strong interest in studio art. Participants will be exposed to college-level studio art foundation classes, working closely with college educators to create projects in various mediums, including drawing, painting, digital photography, and mixed media. By the end of the program, students will have produced portfolio-quality work and images that they can use for college applications and personal purposes. The program aims to provide college-bound students a dynamic summer experience in an arts-focused environment, complete with outings and visits to local galleries and museums.

Join us in celebrating the creativity and talent of SASI students at a student-curated art exhibit in the Hill Gallery. This dynamic showcase features artwork created by our students during their summer journey of artistic exploration and growth. Friends and family are invited to attend the student art exhibition.

Daily Schedule
- 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.: Student Drop off
- 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Studio Time
- 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.: Lunch
- 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Studio Time
- 3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.: Student Pick-Up
- July 18: Outing (gallery/museum visit)
- July 25: Finalize Artwork and Exhibition Installation
Tuition
- South Carolina Resident: $700.00
- Non-South Carolina Resident: $800.00
Application Process
- Step 1: Students must submit a brief statement, consisting of one paragraph, explaining their reasons for wanting to attend this program. Please include three sample images of your current work along with the statement.
- Step 2: Email your submission to SASI Director Cristina Victor at victorcm@cofc.edu. Ensure the email's subject line is formatted: "SASI - Students Name."
- Step 3: After receiving email confirmation of acceptance, the camp application and tuition payment form will be emailed.
