Choosing College of Charleston

Choosing a college is a family decision, and at the College of Charleston, we’re committed to partnering with you every step of the way. From move‑in to graduation, your student will find guidance, opportunity, and a sense of belonging. And as a family member, you are an important part of that journey.

Charleston’s unique blend of history, innovation, coastal beauty, and opportunities for internships, culture, and community engagement enhances the student experience both in and beyond the classroom. Here, students gain essential skills—critical thinking, creativity, communication, and technological confidence—that prepare them to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Accessible & Affordable

The College of Charleston is committed to making a quality education both accessible and affordable. Through the Office of Financial Assistance and Veterans Affairs, families are supported with a range of financial aid options—including scholarships, grants, loans, work‑study opportunities, and veterans’ education benefits—to help manage the cost of college.

Learn more about financial aid by visiting our website, where you’ll find information about available aid types, the estimated cost of attendance, and helpful planning tools such as the net price calculator.

A campus visit gives families an important opportunity to see where your student will learn, live, and grow. The College of Charleston combines a beautiful, walkable setting with access to a dynamic city and expanding career opportunities—particularly within Charleston’s growing medical, tech, and business sectors. We encourage parents and families to join your student on a campus tour to experience firsthand a community that supports student success.
