What is the FAFSA and how do I fill it out? 

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is is the official application for federal financial aid and your first step in the financial aid process. The College of Charleston Office of Financial Aid is a great resource to help you get started with completing and submitting your FAFSA.

Where can I find scholarship information? 

The Office of Financial Aid can help with this as well. The College of Charleston offers a number of different scholarship opportunities. There are also a few free scholarship search platforms you can consider. 

What do I need to know about college test scores? 

Many colleges, including the College of Charleston, are test optional. This means you don't necessarily need to submit standardized test scores when you apply. Explore admission information for details. However, there are some scholarships and othe financial aid that may require them.

Learn about costs. College is a big commitment - of your time and money. Visit the College Affordability and Transparency Center to learn about: 

  • how much it cost to attend different colleges.
  • how fast those costs will increase.
  • why costs increase.
